Sparkling Water's Tooth Friendly Fizz: Separating Fact from Fad A recent study presented at NUTRITION 2026, the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition, has shed light on the effects of sparkling water on teeth.
Researchers compared the impact of sugar sweetened soda, regular sparkling water, calcium fortified sparkling water, and plain water on salivary pH in 20 adults.
The study found that while both sparkling water and soda caused temporary declines in oral acidity, soda was significantly more aggressive.
